Most of the people don’t stick properly to this phase as it’s one of the most important parts of the SEO. If your keywords research is not valuable, you’re not getting the higher rankings. To do the proper research you need to target the keywords that have more search volume per month. By that, I mean that if it should be from 2,000 to 10,000 per month.
Secondly, you have to keep in mind that if you’re a newbie, you can’t just go out there and challenge the giant sites out thereby targeting the high competition keywords. Start with low competition and as your domain authority grows, start targeting the high competition keywords. If you’re a professional in SEO then and believe that you can outrank the bigger sites, then no problem, go for the high competition keywords from the beginning.
Note: Target just three main keywords and you can add some side keywords for better rankings. You can use tools like Ubersuggest, LSIgraph which are free and ahrefs which is paid for keywords research. I would recommend starting with the free ones.
Lengthy Content
Recent research by Brian Dean shows that the articles that are ranking on the first page of Google, they’re not less than 1800 words. So get this, you have to write some super long content to rank on the first page of Google as Google loves long content and ranks t better as compared to other contents which are 500 to 600 words.

Now that you’re done with the ON-page SEO, it’s time to build backlinks and for that, we have many strategies and infographics is one of those. All you have to do is to go buzz sumo, find out the people who share the infographics of your competitors, create one informative infographic which is even better from your competitors in design and information. Ping a message to the people who shared the infographic of your competitor and let them know that you have also created one. They’re more likely to share them and it’s possible that it’ll go viral and you’ll get tons of backlinks.
Roundup Strategy
I tried this one recently and believe me it works. Recent I started emailing the roundup experts that I am about to create a roundup, would you be interested in answering my question and most of them did. Now the thing is when you feature those people in your roundup, they not only share your roundup on their social media accounts but also give you backlinks. Which means this way you’ll get more backlinks and higher rankings.
Scholarship Strategy
Still the Scholarship backlinks works. It’s simple, you have to create a page where you’ll explain your scholarship. The next step would be connected to different.edu sites and tell them that “Hey we have announced a scholarship. Would you be interested in adding our scholarship to your scholarship page” and most of them do and you’ll get some powerful backlinks from high authority sites. Simple as that.
Guest posting – It’s not dead yet
Most people think that guest posting is dead, but it’s not. I have recently started a site name as 10kreviews and I targeted the guest post strategy. After publishing over 7 guest posts on the other blogs related to my niche, I was able to skyrocket my domain authority from 1 to 8 in a short span of time. It took me over 1 month. So yeah guest posting still helps in higher ranking.
